Manufacturing Companies Are Looking for Workers!

The spectre of a pandemic-driven crisis has frightened everyone. While some industries – especially those blocked by government restrictions – have ever-diminishing chances of survival, large manufacturing companies are running at full capacity and are not only not thinking about layoffs, but are actively looking for new hands to work.

Making up for lost time

Back in spring, the manufacturing sector and the automotive industry were not riding high. When factories in China and Italy ground to a halt, it turned out that many manufacturing companies in Poland could not operate normally either, due to a lack of components from the shuttered plants. The automotive industry is particularly relevant here. Many large companies in this sector produce the most parts and components that travel from enterprise to enterprise. A standstill at even one manufacturing company leads to shortages at the next, and the next. Cooperation in this industry must be continuous, and every delay entails enormous losses.

The beginning of the pandemic seemed to herald an economic catastrophe for large enterprises. It turned out, however, that the easing of restrictions actually triggered an avalanche of new – or rather long-overdue – orders. It is said that manufacturing companies are still making up for months of spring stagnation. It is no wonder that they are now running at full steam, rebuilding their losses. More and more large companies are urgently looking for physical workers because, as is so often the case, time is money.

Where to find workers for manufacturing

HR departments are now racking their brains over how to carry out recruitment processes efficiently in order to find reliable workers as quickly as possible and complete all the formalities related to employment, medical examinations and signing contracts. At first glance, rising unemployment during the pandemic might seem to work in employers' favour, but the facts are that the unemployment rate increased by only about 1% over the past year. So will finding new workers during a crisis be much easier than before? Not necessarily.

How to quickly find physical workers

In recent years in Poland, staffing has not been straightforward. Even before the pandemic, independently finding workers for manual positions was quite a challenge. Workers often turned out to be unreliable and would even abandon their jobs. This frequently led to endless rounds of recruitment and, consequently, wasted time and money. Hiring workers from Ukraine proved to be a partial solution; they are happy to take up work in Poland and turn out to be very conscientious employees. Hiring Ukrainians independently requires some effort, but as Polish entrepreneurs have already discovered – it is definitely worth it.

Employee outsourcing – also from Ukraine – also comes to the rescue. Thanks to it, an entrepreneur does not have to worry about searching for workers, expensive recruitment processes and tedious procedures related to hiring new people. The role of the actual employer is taken on by the outsourcing agency. All that needs to be done is to outline the requirements for the employee and sign a contract with the agency. Workers who are ready to work arrive at the company. All employment formalities, including medical examinations, OHS training and handling of contributions, are taken care of by the agency.

Summary

The manufacturing sector, particularly automotive and food processing, is experiencing a dynamic demand for workers. Companies that want to quickly and efficiently respond to the increased demand for their products should consider cooperation with an employment or outsourcing agency. This is the fastest and most effective way to secure the required number of competent workers without investing enormous time in recruitment and employment formalities.
